Four quick questions. Most quotes come back the same day.
We work on windows in one of the hardest environments in the country for them. That shapes how we quote and what we fit. Glass thickness follows the council wind zone rather than a standard spec sheet. Hardware near the water is 316 marine grade rather than whatever is cheapest on the shelf. Character joinery gets repaired instead of pulled out, because old growth rimu and matai are worth keeping and cannot be replaced with anything comparable.
How we quote
We measure on site, water test where there is a leak, and give you a fixed written price. Where a window could be repaired or replaced, both options go on the same quote with the difference explained. We would rather do the smaller job properly than sell you the bigger one.
Emergency work is different. We come out, make it safe, and measure at the same visit. You get the callout figure on the phone before we leave, so there is no surprise at the end.
The standards we work to
Safety glazing follows NZS 4223, which sets out where toughened or laminated glass is required: in and beside doors, in wet areas, in low level glazing and in large panes. Plenty of older Wellington homes have plain annealed glass in those positions because it predates the rule, and we bring it up to standard when we replace it.
New and replacement joinery is rated to NZS 4211 against wind pressure. Wellington City Council maps wind zones from Low through Very High and Extra High to Specific Design, and an Extra High rating covers a site wind speed up to 55 metres per second. We check the zone for your address before ordering.
Who we work for
Homeowners, mostly. Also a steady amount of landlord and property manager work, particularly around the Healthy Homes ventilation standard, which every private rental has had to meet since 1 July 2025. And commercial work: shopfronts, offices, schools and body corporates, where the cost of being closed is usually higher than the cost of the glass.
Where we work
All of Wellington city, from Tawa and Johnsonville in the north through the central suburbs to Island Bay, Miramar and the eastern bays. Across the harbour we cover Petone, Lower Hutt and Upper Hutt, and to the north Porirua and Titahi Bay.

What Wellington customers say
Rang at 8am with a smashed bedroom window. Boarded within the hour, new glass in two days. No fuss, no waiting around for a callback.
Southerly took out a big pane on the deck side. They came out the same afternoon, measured, and put in thicker toughened glass because of the wind up here. Explained it all without being condescending.
Our villa sashes had not opened properly in about fifteen years. Cords replaced, sashes eased, putty redone and repainted. They look original and they actually work now. Worth every cent.
Salt had wrecked the stays on the seaward side. Swapped for marine grade, and while he was here he showed me how to wash the frames so it does not happen again. Small job, treated like a big one.
